The Riverdale Community Bais Medrash has been providing a Torah learning environment for the community. Chavrusas, Chaburos, Daf Yomi, scheduled lectures by local Rabbonim and other prominent speakers are part of what we provide. More importantly perhaps, we have created an atmosphere that is conducive to nightly learning with a background noise of a Bais Medrash and little interruption from the outside world.
The Bais Medrash, hosted by the Young Israel of Riverdale at 4502 Henry Hudson Parkway in a beautiful newly expanded and renovated facility, is conveniently located to all members of the community.
There are Chavrusas who have been learning with each other in the Bais Medrash for years. Yet, newcomers feel welcome and are encouraged to try a Chavrusah themselves with a friend, or with one of our resource fellows, or join an existing group of their choice.
More recently, there have been several initiatives in learning that have sparked special interest: The Riverdale Chaburah, the special Chaburah on Mussar and Machshava , and the Sugyos in Daf Yomi Group, which have been very well received and continue to expand and generate new interest.
We encourage a broader participation and create a vibrant public Torah Learning which benefits all of us and to generate greater financial support for the Bais Medrash.
